A Documentary Film by Rebundle
What if the beauty rituals trusted by millions carried hidden costs no one warned us about?
This documentary pulls back the curtain on the synthetic hair industry, revealing the health and environmental risks disproportionately impacting Black women. Through intimate storytelling and investigative reporting, the film traces decades of normalized toxicity and follows the emergence of Rebundle, the first U.S.-made plant-based braiding hair brand, as a challenge to an industry built without accountability.
At its core, this is a story about power, choice, and what becomes possible when Black women move from being the industry’s biggest consumers to its decision-makers.
